With ArtPrize 2011 just around the corner, we at the Leonard at Logan Bed and Breakfast wanted to give you a quick look at the key information important when you visit Grand Rapids. We still have room nights available, and would love to be part of your stay. The art starts just a block from us, and we are only a 15 minute walk from the center of downtown. Enjoy!

How Voting Works: Voting is open to the public and completely free. There are two rounds of voting; during week 1 (September 21-28), each voter can vote up or down for any artist, but can only vote once for each entry. Results will be available online in real time until voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on September 28. The top 10 finalists will be announced Thursday, September 29. New for 2011, the top 25 of each of the five neighborhoods will be posted; the top 10 entries will be part of this pool of 125.

Week 2 voting (September 29-October 5) for the top 10 begins immediately after the finalists are announced. During this round, you only get one vote, but can change your vote as often as you like until 11:59 p.m. on October 5. The top winner will be announced at a gala event at DeVos Hall on October 6.

Once registered, voters can cast their votes online at ArtPrize.org, through a mobile browser (m.artprize.org), via text message or with the iPhone app (search ‘artprize’ in the App Store).

How to Register: Voting is open to anyone 16 and older, but you must register in person at one of the registration locations around the city between September 22 and October 6 with a valid government-issued ID. You can pre-register some of your information on ArtPrize.org beginning September 7, but you still have to visit a station in person for verification.

Hours: Opening Day, September 21: 6pm-10pm; all other days: Monday-Thursday: 5pm-8pm; Friday & Saturday 12pm-10pm; Sunday 12pm-6pm.
