Gilda’s LaughFest today announced more seriously funny entertainment for the nation’s only community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda’s LaughFest. This round of artists includes acts that will be part of the nationally sponsored Bud Light Blue and Late Night Comedy Series, the Out of the Box comedy show, musical entertainment and more family-friendly events. LaughFest will also have special events in Holland and Lowell. The 10-day festival of laughter will open in Grand Rapids, March 8, 2012.
Joining Amy Schumer as part of the Bud Light Blue and Late Night Comedy Series is Hannibal Buress, performing on Friday, March 16. In addition, full-time writer and story producer on E!’s top-rated show Chelsea Lately, Heather McDonald, will perform with Jimmy Shubert as part of a free show at the Orbit Room on Tuesday, March.13.
The Out of the Box comedy show will be held on Monday, March 12. This returning event will feature Grand Rapids native Henry Sapp along with new performers Andrea Woodfolk, Marcus D. Wiley and DL Henry, the United Voices of Worship and other surprise guests.
The Verve Pipe will be perform its critically acclaimed “A Family Album” on Saturday, March 17 at 1p.m. as part of the Meijer Family Friendly Series. The Super Saturday Kids Zone returns on Saturday March 10, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and features fun for kids of all ages. �Baby Loves Disco, an interactive disco dance for toddlers, will return to the B.O.B. on March 9 and 10 with two shows on each day.
New this year are special LaughFest shows in Lowell and Holland. Returning comic Patti Vasquez and Greg Morton will perform in Lowell together on Friday, March 16. Taylor Mason, a ventriloquist, musician and comedian, will perform his family-friendly show in Holland on Friday, March 16.
Ticket packages for LaughFest go on sale Nov. 18 with packages starting at $29.50. LaughFest ticket- package gift certificates are also available in $25 increments. Premium ticket packages, which range in price from $250 to $750 include a variety of VIP extras, such as entrance into various LaughFest parties and events. Ticket packages will be sold online at laughfestgr.org or by calling (616)735-HAHA(4242) through Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Individual tickets sales will open to the general public on Jan. 13, 2012 at ticketmaster.com and will range in price from $7 to $57.50.
